I am pregnant and I know that I am not supposed to handle cat litter....there is something in kitty waste that is bad....is the same stuff in ferret waste?

And also is it safe to even own cats or ferrets....they walk around in their waste and then in your lap.....

I am very concerned because I have had 2 miscarriages and this pregnancy is only 5 weeks along and I don't want to lose it for any reason....especially one I could have prevented.

Thank you all in advance!

Some cat or animal feces can cause toxoplasmosis. The infection is caused by a parasite. I will post a link that will tell you more about it. My sister was having problems with seeing a 'spot' in her eye. The eye Dr. said that toxoplasmosis was probably the culprit and there was nothing they could do about it. My mom could have come in contact with it anywhere their were animals. Her case isn't a serious one but they can be. Check out the link:

I have a cat and a ferret. Just to be on the safe side, I have been having my husband also clean up after the ferret. It's safe to own these animals, but you are supposed to wash your hands frequently because they do dig in their litter.

Do you additionally comprehend how risky that's for a girl ferret to be left unspayed? To additionally be pregnant?? being pregnant is amazingly unstable for ferrets! GET HER TO A VET. If shes pregnant, she needs to pass on an exceptionally specific weight-alleviation plan and needs to be watched like a hawk. only going into hard artwork can kill her. If she isnt pregnant GET HER SPAYED!!!! A fake being pregnant is the place an animal thinks its pregnant to the factor that it lactates, nests, entire 9 yards. some even pass into hard artwork.

I have never heard such a thing! I have no idea as to why you think you can't handle cat litter... I don't see why animals could cause any harm to your baby at all either. Plenty of couples have animals and children as well. I'm a little confused?
