I'm working on a birth chart for my own astrological curiousities, but that's not really important. What is, is that I've been asked to divide my GMT birth time by 10 seconds, to make up for the difference between the 24-hour day and the sidereal day. You don't really have to know what those mean... the point is, how do I divide the time 13:19 by ten seconds?

Unless you are referring to some specific Hindu/Vedic subdivision of the Nativity I have never in over 30 years of practise heard of EITHER dividing or multiplying the GMT birth time by 10 seconds to make up for the difference between the 24-hour day and the sidereal day.

Furthermore I have no idea what textbook, almanac or ephemeris you might be referring to as your source. Or did *someone* just tell you that you *had* to make this calculation? First you said divide, then multiply??

Finally all major western almanacs & ephemeriden (US, UK & Swiss) have the sideral time listed on the left hand column, already adjusted! There can be a minor sideral time correction for the place of birth, but this is seldom more than +/- 20 seconds -- no time at all to make any difference.

Hope this clears things up ... do get/use the proper books (all computer programs have the same pre-adjustments).

PPS: NEXT DAY / ADDITIONAL ANSWER-- Your language use of a 10 second an hour *division and multiplication* confused me . . . on second thought after a day I think you are referrng to what is termed *acceleration.* This is 10 seconds per hour or 1 second every six minutes and is to be ADDED to the sideral time given in the Ephemeris, that is the total number of seconds from the sideral time given. If you were born at 13:19 GMT that is 13 seconds PLUS from noon, or 133 seconds from midnight (2'13"). If it is not clear now it will never be clear!

Nostradamus--- Astrologer and physician... Some of his prophecies appeared to be fulfilled and his fame became so widespread...Some believed that his prophecies are prefigured historical events that have occured during his time. Others having no apparent meaning, are said to foretell events that have not yet occurred... Harry Houdini--- Conjuror with his sensational escape...Another fellow with extraordinary (supernatural ability), earned his international reputation for his treatrical tricks, and daring feats of extrication from shackles, ropes and hadcuffs and from various locked containers... Two very interesting fellow with different supernatural talents, it makes me wonder what's the differences between their natal chart...
