the head gasket is cracked, i need to know if i need to replace it or if i can just seal it. im working on rebuilding it completly.

There are some that will claim you can use additives to seal the leaking gasket, but most will recommend that you change it. As long as it's just the gasket that's leaking, you can do that repair in a medium length afternoon. If, however, the head is cracked, you'll need to locate another head and swap it out. The procedure is the same as you have to remove the head to replace the gasket anyway.

Get something to seal it from an auto parts store. That might work until you can rebuild the motor. When you rebuild it, you are going to want to replace the head gasket anyway.

If it's just the gasket you can replace it. If it's the head or the block a lot more difficult.

RYAN SINCE YOUR GOING TO REBUILD YOU WILL NEED TO PUT NEW HEAD GASKETS ON THATS THE RIGHT AND ONLY WAY
