How about a nice family picture put in a nice frame. Like if you have your own family get a really nice picture done at Walmart. I believe that will cost you about $10 and put it in a nice picture frame.

Mama is probably feeling "old" at 50 (I know, I'm just over 50). How about a gift basket with a cd of soothing music (James Taylor? Carol King? Crosby Stills Nash?), bubble bath, skin lotions (for face, hands, feet), sweet smelling candles, a loofah, pair of slippers, nail polish, make up. Things that will give her some peaceful time to herself and make her feel really good when she's back in the middle of everything. Sometimes, all ma wants is a little bitty break, and something to do with that break. Pampering herself is a great way to recharge her batteries.

This year I bought my mom a DVD set of Inspector Morse ( one of her favorite TV shows). That's a thought--does she have a favorite show? You could always get her a season of it on DVD. If she likes Bath and Bodyworks, get her something from there. As part of your gift, make a certificate good for an afternoon of helping her around the house. I bet that would mean a lot to her. If she likes coffee or tea, you could get her a mug and an assortment of different coffees or teas along with some goodies to have with it. Does she have a favorite author or authors? Get her the latest book from that person.

for u, I would just ask her. But, my mom is 35 and Im 14. I'm getting my mom a Rachel Ray 30 minute meals recipe book. She loves to watch rachel ray on the food channel so I thought I'd get her a recipe book, so maybe if ur mom likes to read or cook get her some sort of a book and jewelry is always nice!

I would give my mother for christmas a pic of me, a relaxing day off her feet, and a day at the spa.

Just give her a full Mommy/Daughter day, take her out to eat, go to a movie, and a pedicure, facial and massage at a really good day spa in your home town.Your mom just wants her little girl by her side the same way that she had when you were little. :)
