Also a lot of times the are selling the BBQ but they just do not a advertise that they are selling it. Every one else that is not on food stamps does not want any one to know that they can only afford cheep hamburgers and hot dogs.

Wow. I've been to many BBQs, all of which have been in the backyard. If the person didn't have a backyard or if it started to rain they would just cook using the stove and oven and everyone would eat inside, talk, listen to music/watch TV. It's fun. But, yeah that's a generalization. Also, I've never heard of ppl selling thier BBQ. Why would you sell it unless U were doing a fundraiser for something? And to the person who made the comment about the driveway, I have a question for you...why the heck do you care? At my house there are 3 vehicles and one garage. However, 2 of the vehicles are parked on the street and one is parked in the drive way. Why don't we use the garage for a vehicle? Cause we use it for other stuff. That's where my dad goes to play pool, listen to music, we store stuff there, etc. So maybe you should consider they might be using it for something else whether it's obvious to you or not. And if they just don't want to use it, why the heck do you care?

Black people aren't the only people that eat in there front yard. I live in a most white neighborhood and many of them eat in the front yard... I see Latinos doing the same. I prefer eating in private and not for everyone to ride by looking at me.. I have asked myself why as well why people eat in the front yard since they all have nice big back yards... but it is not only blacks...

I am African American and my family never bbq in the front yard and I have never seen black people do that so you need to stop generalizing our whole race this question is ignorant and a way for you to talk about black people anyway you can. You are trying to act like you are being genuine but your not

I'm not black, but I went through Louisiana during Mardi Gras once, and everyone was cooking out in their front yards along the highway. We stopped to pick up beads after a parade, and total strangers saw us and invited us to their barbecue - I think they barbecue in the front yard to be sociable. If you're in the front, everyone can see you and they might stop by and join you. I think they're doing it to be friendly.

Actually, I am white, and at my old house we used to barbecue on the front porch, because it was a covered porch with rocking chairs and tables. We really enjoyed it and never thought we were bothering anyone. Hhmmm??
