Being moraly good is genuine and sincere. However sometimes being genuine is self serving this making it not morally good

I think it means that if you're a moral person then genuinely you are good. However, you can be a genuine person but not necessarily a moral one. I can be genuine to you when telling you how much I like your hair, but it does not mean that I am being moral when I say it, I'm just complimenting your snazzy style.
