If someone is idle, it means they aren't producing very much...they are lazy and unproductive.

If a car idles, it has the engine running but isn't going anywhere...much like the person who is idle.

There is a homonym that mean something that you worship Idol is how you spell that one...as in "Christians aren't supposed to worship idols."

Idle the way you spelled it means engine is running but the body isn't moving.
