I have an unsealed floor in my back room and would like to give it a limed finish. How???

Go to your local hardware store and purchase a liming solution. If you want a more durable finish you can get a clear laquer that goes over the limewash (makes it easier to clean).

If its a bare wood floor, rent a floor sander and call a friend. Sand the floor nice and smooth and then mop it with a damp mop. This will pick up any left over dust and raise the grain in the wood. Get two cheap mops, a mop bucket, a gallon of white paint and a quart of thinners. Mix the paint and thinners together in the mop bucket and start mopping along the length of the boards. Have your friend follow up with a dry mop to rub everything in. By now, the beer will be cold and the pizza guy will have arrived. After lunch repeat the process, it may be a bit sticky still so go barefoot! I did 800 square feet in 2 hours.
