I've been wearing glasses 14 years, practially my entire life. I don't wear them to sleep, or in the shower, etc. but I do have to wear them 24/7. There is always a bright red line and irration wear the bridge sets, and i can't seem to get rid of it. I've gonw without glasses for long periods of time before, but it won't go away even then. please help!
p.s.- what glasses are "in style" right now??

It sounds to me like your glasses aren't fitting properly. Get your optometrist to check the fit. The glasses should sit on the bridge of your nose without pressing so hard that they leave a mark. Having to wear them all the time however may make the mark unavoidable. Once the mark is in, I suspect it would probably take several years of not wearing glasses to let it go away. Since your glasses are never off, no one but you knows. As for style, that's just a way to soak a few extra hundred dollars out of your bank account.

I also wear glasses everyday, and I have never gotten that. It could be your glasses are in some serious need of cleaning, and I like to wipe a Q-Tip with a little astrigent on the little plastic stoppers by the nose, so the oil from my face doesn't build up there. Or they could be too small for you already.
As for "in style", I had my mom buy me some name-brand ones (Giorgio Armani) because I knew I would be wearing them for a long time, but I suggest asking the people who work there to help you out.
I have made very good friends with the lady who sold me my glasses, and she always recommends the best for me. She looks at my face shape, and my eyes. I have almond shaped eyes, so the oval frames are the best. And the frame is skinny, and copper to be relatively unnoticeable, and blend with my skin color.

Forget style... pick something that YOU like that is lightest on your face. I can wear contacts but prefer glasses. I have an Italian pair of glasses i bought there. Moschino brand. They are very light metal. My kids tell me that they look like granny glasses, but I think that they are in style. Whatever fits, that feels good that you like is what matters. Especially if they irritate your bridge. I also suggest you massage your bridge and put lotion on the spots to exercise the area to heal. I figure it couldn't hurt...

You can kill two birds with one stone here. Plastic frames. They're completely in style right now, and the plastic doesnt dig into your skin like metal does. But don't go with the black ones, too many people have them already. A darker shade of your favorite color; you can't go wrong.

Ask your doctor, your glasses might be to small for your face. My glasses are very, very light and rimless.I also have to wear mine 24/7. maybe contact lens, if you can wear them........good luck

Have you ever tried contacts? i wear contacts because of the red line as well, it went away, but before it went away i had to put make up on it so you could not see it.

Lafonts are slightly expensive 'designer' glasses. Gorgeous frames.

I DON'T GO WITH STYLE, I GO WITH WHAT LOOKS GOOD ON ME AND HOW IT FITS. I'VE ALSO GOT CONTACTS SO I CAN WEAR EITHER. I WEAR MY GLASSES AT NIGHT WHEN I DRIVE, I CAN SEE BETTER.

Maybe they are too heavy for you. Try a lighter pair with smaller lenses
