Most of the people I know think I'm stuck up because I'm quiet most of the time... It just saddens me to see how people misunderstand me.

i feel the same way..i'm a quiet and shy person,except to those who are close to me..but ,sadly,now days,people are too quick to judge someone..just because ya don't talk ,doesn't automatically mean you're a bitc*..i.myself..don't care what ppl think of me..i know what i am,and what i'm not..that's all that matters..right.....right :)

Yes, They see the quiet person as someone that's act's like there to good. Therefore everyone that is a quiet person seems to be stuck up in most peoples eyes. It happens to me all the time.

I use to be pretty shy too. I was accused a lot of being stuck up. I join in on conversation more now than I use to. My problem now is I'm hard of hearing. Some times some one will call from across the room and I don't hear them, or they will say something and I didn't see them, there for did not hear them. If they don't know me that well and don't know I am hard of hearing, they think I am being stuck up.

yeah, I get that sometimes too. I am a pretty quiet person too, and I have had people ask me if I had a problem with the people who were around, or if I was angry about something. I guess I look angry when I'm just sitting and thinking cause I've gotten that a couple times.

Yanno... you make a great point. When I was younger, I was rather quiet, and I can remember many occasions where people thought I was aloof. Of course that could not be further from the truth. At that point in my life, I was just a quiet person.
Of course now, few can shut me up...lol.

Yes, it seems to happen a lot. I know it happens to me, and I have heard several other people complain about the same problem. You can never really know what a person is like until you give them a chance. You never know what is going through their minds at any given time. If they don't give you a chance to prove yourself, it's their loss, although it does hurt you more.

Yes I have always had the same problem until people get too know me they think I'm stuck up. It's best not to worry about it and be yourself. Once they get to know you they will understand you.

Oh of course! I know that people have thought of me like that too and it does make me sad as well.
I consider myself a quiet person and I keep to myself. But once you get to know me, you can't shut me up :) lol

i used to be so shy! i would not even consult with my grandparents. Now I actual have gained self belief yet i'm nonetheless shy and purely communicate plenty to ordinary people, kinfolk, acquaintances and youthful little ones. i like being with youthful little ones, it particularly is as quickly as I communicate the main and actual get my shell cracked!
