I think it looks fine now, but to answer your question,

Yes, Nintendo will make it look better. They are already planning a second release of the Wii, and from what I understand the wii2 is just going to be able to play dvds. So in order to get more people buying it, they'll have to give them another reason, something like, "it looks better" or maybe offer it in different colors.

Eitherway, look at what happened with nindendo DS. Supposedly a revolutionary new handheld system. It was a huge success in the begining, but to keep sales going they had to release the "DS lite" Now people had more of a reason to buy a DS, or even to buy a second DS.

It's a perfect marketing scheme, and just because they can do it, they will do it. The wii you have now is going to become a classic, and i would even go so far as to say it will be rare. Get it while you can if you're a collector! If you just wanna play fun games... hold off a bit!

In the near future? No.

Nintendo will be making another version of the Wii that plays DVDs, but nothing else will change - the interior and exterior will remain exactly the same except for the fact that it plays DVDs. Besides, this DVD-playing Wii has been confirmed for Japan only and might not even be released in the Americas.

In the far future? Perhaps so. Nintendo's tradition is to refresh their systems with a better design, but this usually doesn't happen for some time after the original system's release. I wouldn't expect a redesign to be radically different, since the Wii can't really get much smaller.

So ultimately, there won't be any changes to the appearance of the Wii for a while, if any. It could happen in the far future, but I doubt anything major would change.

The Wii games will definitely get better over the systems lifespan. Take a look at early PS2 games and compare them to the recently released Final Fantasy XII. You will notice a difference. The same applies to the Wii. As developers get more used to the console they will find ways to make the graphics better.

Nintendo is NOT going to be releasing an upgraded Wii or a Wii sequel for at least 5 years. The DVD Wii is the same as a regular Wii just with the ability to play DVD movies, and will most likely only be released in Japan. Just like they released the special Gamecube there that could play DVDs
