Hey, everytime I turn on my distortion, it has some loud annoying noise when i touch the strings. It doesn't have the noise when I have it clean... Is this in any way related to my pickups? Anyone know what the possible problems are?

Also, am i able to lower the bridge with the strings still on them?

Thanks, any help is much appreciated!!!

Well, i know what distortion does. I tried my friends guitar, so all my cables and stuff work..
There's this large, hugely annoying sound, that it even nearly drowns out notes that are played.
Thanks again!!

it isnt grounded - there should be a wire going from the switches to the tremelo or bridge and the pickup connecting everything (just the outside of the swithces (ground) - polarity might be reversed (the relation of the pedal to the wiring in the guitar), if nothing else works then you can reverse the wires that go to the plug

Maybe it's your cord. Check the wiring in your amp too.
