since 1995 systems went into 3d and sega cd had come out but it was the first time for cd systems and 3d graphics it was sony's first system and they dominated the market with crappy bad graphics sports games and a few shooter games like tomb raider it's when platformer adventure games slowed down nintendo 64 did badly and of course sega went out of buisness ever since then sony's playstation has dominated the market their ps2 was just as successfull and took most of the market so people assume this is the best one and they should get it right away and not wait 6 months to a year to get a 50 to 100 dollar rebate becasue everyone is selfish and wants the best now or what they assume will be the best from past experiences

I think the media and the Internet are part to blame why people want it so bad. I want the system really bad to, but not enough to wait in line for 3 days with no sleep, or pay $1500 on Ebay for it. The media and Internet say that it will be twice as powerful as the Xbox 360. That right their makes people really want to have it. I heard that someone even got shot trying to get their hands on a PS3. I also heard that people were selling their spot in line for $1500. Thats not even guaranteeing they would be able to get one. Then they have to pay another $600 for it, so thats $2100. The auctions on Ebay have went up alot. The auctions ranged between $1700-$3000. People were actually bidding on these items. One auction had like over 30 bids on it. I also think people wanted it so bad is becouse they could turn around and sell for $1700-$3000. People are willing to pay 4 to 5 times its value. If you as me, I think its kind of sad that people are willing to pay this much for any console. I want one really bad too, but I can wait for a couple of years before the price drops down.

The only difference between a PS2 and PS3, Is that, the PS3 has a cooling down system inside of it. In other words it has a fan. And the PS2 does not have a fan inside, And it can run hot if it's left on for along time.

Because their moms didn't get them cabbage patch dolls when they were little. Or Tickle Me Elmo last year. It's all hype. I know someone who works for electronic store (BB), and he isn't allowed to purchase one, because it would piss off the customers if he got one and someone out in line did not. Excuse me, but does any of this make any sense to any normal person out there????

IT's a fad. People want one so they can sell it online. Or they want one to play games. It's a toy and a way to show off.

beacuse you can do more than play games on a PS3 you can watch HD tv on it and it also watches blue ray movies and you can plug it up to your computer and ply aganist other people

it can do internet and stuff you can watch videos and stuff is mostly a computer lol but idk. I just know it can do aolt of stuff my parent just got me 1 there confuseing!
