Well, I guess it depends on how many partners and what kind of sex are involved. If it's a lot, get tested a lot. My theory is that when you have sex, you are having sex with everyone else your partner has been with as well. So how active have your partners been. You can go to your doc or health department and specifically ask for STD tests. I used to think my annual pap test would reveal STDs, but that is not the case. Separate testing is required.

no matter if the rapist informed her this or not she could had a try performed and get morning after pills. She must have filed a police list and had him arrested. Marine Corps STD sorting out must have not some thing to do with this, she could be searching after this legally and medically and don't be disturbed about believing the scum bag who raped her and what ever bull crap he informed her

If you've never been tested and have had sexual activity, get tested, then get tested after every partner. Also make sure your partner is clean before you have sex with them. Usually there is a free clinic in every town to get tested if you do not have insurance. If you do go through your doctor. If you are a college student, student medical services offers testing.

Your local county health department they usually have a STD clinic. Depends on your sexual behaviors as to how often to be tested. This department is very confidential and you could discuss your sexual situation with them and they could guide you as to how often to test.

I go every six months, to my local doctor, because I do have quite a few partners, even though I always use protection. My best friend got me into the habit of it, because he's always done that, even when he only used to sleep with women.
It's the responsible thing to do, even if you practice safe sex, you're never 100% safe, and you have to be aware of the situation not only to protect yourself, but also your future partners.

Every six months(at least I/we did for the first year and a half).
We are monogamous and faithful so testing is not required(but still done as a precaution during annual physicals).
