or C) Open it yourself using a cloth of some sort on top the the lid and then opening it?
I once earned three blisters trying to open those small Tropicana orange drinks in a bottle. Then I asked my friend to do it and he opened the bottle in 2 seconds while it took me almost the whole morning to open the damn thing. He laughed at me afterwards...

I try it, whack it, try it, get the tool out of the drawer and open it. (We have a cool thing that locks onto the lid and just twists 'em off real fast, but I never have sense enough to use it first!)

That is one of my little quirks I have. I will not give up on a lid. My husband thinks it is hilarious. I usually beat it on the counter top a couple of times then it will pop right open. But always always always take responsibility of loosing up the lid when someone gets it open 2 seconds after you give it to them.

My right hand is very weak after a bone graft - it's been that way for years. If I can't open something and someone is handy I ask them. if not, I try a towel...if that doesn't work I use something like a spoon to break the seal.

lol... After I give a valiant effort at trying to open it, I admit defeat and get somebody else to do it for me... I'll even put the damn thing between my legs, get the edge of my shirt and twist it... then, if the darned thing still won't open, I get somebody to do it for me!! However, if it's something I KNOW I can't open, I get somebody else to do it for me... I feel like such a damsel in distress then! I don't like that feeling much... lol... :-)

I open it myself,if it is stiff I run it under the hot tap/faucet for a few seconds.It does help to open lids.
