Two people and one corporation designed Santa's outfit. The people are Clement Moore and Thomas Nast, and the corporation is Coca Cola. Clement Moore described St. Nick in his poem "The Night Before Christmas"; Thomas Nast, the once famous political cartoonist drew a picture of Santa Claus; and Coca Cola has built on the image created by both in a long running ad campaign.
