He didn't die of a drug overdose, he died from heart failure. In his earlier days he used drugs and when he started in the WWE he became an alcoholic. He was sent to rehab for both and returned strong but the damage was done. After they did an autopsy they found the drugs had done major damage that couldn't be repaired and he was working out so much it was putting strain on his already damaged heart. Basically he had a heart attack in his sleep due to PAST drug use.

An autopsy revealed that Guerrero died as a result of acute heart failure, caused by undiagnosed arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease and enlargement of the heart as a result of prior anabolic steroid abuse. Although Guerrero had not taken alcohol or illicit drugs for nearly four years, his past excesses contributed to his heart failure. At the time of his death, he had recently used narcotic painkillers.

Guerrero's wife Vickie said that he had been lethargic and unwell in the week preceding his death, but that this had been attributed to the stress of continuously traveling and performing. She added that the doctors had told her that Guerrero's blood vessels had shriveled and weakened owing to undiagnosed heart disease, and that he had simply dropped into a deep sleep.

ok most of these answers are only half true it was from him drug use, but it wasnt from overdosing that night his tubes connected to his heart were getting clogged and they were already bad from all the drug abuse and they ended up clogging and he had a silent heart attack and died (it didnt help that he was wrestling so much before he died)

True cover up. The truth is he dies of drug overdose. It's not good to be doing physically demanding job and drugs. Why do you think they let his wife come on the show? They felt bad because they knew he was doing it and no one stopped him from his addiction.
