It is produced in very small amounts as a by-product of the testosterone conversion process. There are certain proteins that are rather friendly to it during the coversion and so therefor produce the amount men need. It tends to rise as men age.

Lots of people have given different answers, so maybe you want to check it in the internet (I recommend wikipedia) so you will be sure which answer is the most accurate.
As far as I know, strogen is an hormone present in both males and females, but its is more quantities in females
Males produce strogens too, and they do it because a key enzime called aromatase, that converts testosterone (the "male hormone") to strogens; and this enzime is in great concentrations in the adipose tissue (however you can find it in other tissues, for example in the zona fascicular and reticular of the adrenal gland). Thats the reason, for example, that some obese males in the future develop ginecomastia (enlarged chest and nipples).
This enzime is present in females too and have the same function and importance.
Hope be useful

Easy... they are actually born with it. Also, females have testosterone in their body for the same reason. Before the egg becomes either male or female, it has both hormones inside it. They are left-over in small amounts after the sex of the egg is determined. There is no set amount, and some people have more or less of one or the other, and this is normal. These hormones do not dissapear, and do not need to be continuously produced in order for them to make a difference in the body.

It is produced in very small
amounts as a by-product of the testosterone conversion process. In
fact, balanced levels of estrogen in men are essential to encourage a
healthy libido, improved brain function, protect the heart and
strengthen the bones . . . high levels of estrogen can cause reduced
levels of testosterone, fatigue, loss of muscle tone, increased body
fat, loss of libido and sexual function and an enlarged prostate.

In human males, the testosterone they produce , is converted to estrogen by enzymes primarlily within fatty tissues (adipose).
And as men age, this conversion intensifies, and more & more of the testosterone becomes estrogen. that's one reason guys go impotent in mid-life and later. There are other reasons, like hardening of the penile artery. Poor blood flow into the penis. yes, men go into their ANDROPAUSE change of life. ANd it SUCKS!!!!!
this is the truth. God gives you some good years, you look real good & feel real good - and then He takes it all away.
so enjoy your youth.
