i went and told my one brother not to ask for the one thing because i got it for another. but later on i relized i got the one brother something already now i want to give it to the brother i already told what the other one was getting.

do you think he'll forget by christmas i told him? is it good or bad to give it to the brother i told? i need help

it's been done before and he will be surprised because he is not expecting it since you already told him what it was, he will expect a different gift.

You could go the "Oh, I meant to be tricky route." In that case, drop all sorts of "false hints" to everyone, so no one knows what they are getting for Christmas.

But it would be easy to return it now if you think you'll have problems.

(-: This kind of thing happens a lot -- I sent my sister a lot of gift ideas, and she said, "Oh, guess what? I found a Christmas gift for you that I bought way back in August, so go ahead and give those ideas to someone else." She's the organized sister -- I tend to find those "early" gifts in January, after Christmas is all over!

You can always buy gift cards for both brothers - that should atone for any misunderstanding which may have existed. Try not to lose sleep over such a thing. Christmas is more than exchanging gifts.
