Motherhood is the most important job in the entire world. There is much of yourself to give up, and many sacrifices to be made. There are tears of joy, but also of sadness and frusteration. You are never appreciated enough, there are no medals handed out at the end of the day for a job well done. It is a terrifying responsibility to know that u are primarily responsible for guiding this tiny human on the path to a productive life. You will not be credited with his successes but you will almost inevitably be blamed for his failures. You will expend every ounce of energy you can spare worrying about your children for the rest of your natural life; you will make any sacrifice to better their existence. I extend my arms out to you with a huge hug, I thank god for mothers.

Indeed motherhood is the most important job, and yet such a rewarding experience. We can all be the best mom in the whole world, but when your child grows up and wether he or she succeeds or fail in life, a mother is never at fault if they did their best. I believe all mother's can only do so much and give so much. In today's generation, and with peer pressure all around, influences play a big part in how a child decides to go. The good things we teach at home, a mother can only pray and hope their child carries that with them as they go about a very diverse world. Sometimes we must accept the outcome whether good or bad, and no matter what, a mom will always be a mom.

I am a mother of one --18 month old boy and i understand exactly what you are talking about, i gave up work and a life basically to make sure that my son doesn't have to be in daycare (for sickness reasons) and i go through a lot of sleepless nights, but i also feel that some props should also go out to those so help us raise these kids, such as the dads, grandparents, teachers, coaches and so on, i really believe in the old saying it takes a village to raise a child and i know that i couldn't do it without the love, guidance and support of my family and friends!!!

I just wanted to say thank you for that. It is very kind of you. A mothers job is never done but it is the best thing in the world. Even the tears and the pain that sometimes comes with it. But the laughter and joy and the sweet smiles and all the returned love is well worth the pain.

Yes I am. I have 5 children (all grown now) and we all have a beautiful relationship. It was very kind what you wrote and I hope your mother and/or children read this. It sounds that you are a very nice person, so hats off to your mother and what a wonderful mother you are or will be.

I wish I were. I can't wait until I am a mother myself... But, on the subject, good mothers deserve so much; flowers, praise, and of course, love. Lots of love. I know my mother is wonderful, and did a great job raising me and my siblings. I miss her and love her alot. I wish I were closer and could talk to a nd see her every day. Seriously, anyone who is reading this question. Call your mother and tell her how much you appreciate her. You have to realize, mothers (most anyways) prioritize their children above all else (that means you). So... even though this is not mothers day, let her know that you love and appreciate her.

No, I'm not a Mother. I have 2 stepchildren, but they don't really consider me that way. I do however love them as well as my nieces and nephew. One of my nieces and nephew have told me repeatedly that I had a big part in raising them and on Mother's Day they acknowledge me. They have told me that I have been more of a Mother to them than their own mother. Needless to say, that makes me feel good and warms my heart.

America had this drug until the government took it away with the passing of the incorrigible child act. We owe all this to one Dr. Spock. He destroyed the very fiber of the american family. I think every mother and father should fight to get this drug back. We are the government It belongs to every citizen, not a bunch of elected officials.

Well, I am not a mother yet, but I take care of children. I babysit for long hours and volunteer at daycares to prepare myself for motherhood. Children are our future, and I can't help but love each and every one of them. I know how hard it is to raise a child, and I have much respect for good parents. However, I do not tolerate the parents and mothers that think of their children as mere objects, like my step-brother's biological mom for example.
