So so so glad I live in Canada! The most it will cost me is the $30 upgrade to go from a semi-private room to a private room. Our insurance covers the semi-private and OHIP covers the rest.

Ug. You want to look into an HMO.. QUICK. 80% is going to leave you with a good $2000- $4000 in debt (seriously). Regular OB visits are billed at about $100 each (you once a month until 8mo, then every other week.. then once a week from 36 weeks on). You have the cost of Ultrasounds ($300+), lab work (usually $90 per test) and god forbid something goes wrong- my C-Section was billed at 13 thousand (John Hopkins).

I have not made it to the birthing part yet... but my OB charge was $2800 for visits and stuff. Insurance pays 90%, so I owe the doc $280, not too bad. I pay $5 co-pay every time I get blood work done as well.

my insurance covers everything... however i know my reg doctor visits- if i was paying out of pocket- they charge 75 dollars. My hospital bill from my first child was around 5 grand... and that was for induction- 23 hours of labor and then a c-section and then staying in the hospital for 4 or 5 days (cant remember exactly how many i was there hehe) However- because i had medicaid for her birth- her deadbeat dad has to pay the hospital bill back to medicaid.. but somehow i doubt theyll ever get it-- but gee the 60,000 he owes me sure would come in handy sometimes. hehe but anyways.. that's a whole nother story! lol.

Depends on if you are a single mother or married, if you are single, you can get it totally paid for by a thing called "passport"
if you are married, and have insurance, you will have to pay the deductable which is around 25-45 dollars per doctor visit, depending on insurance coverage.
So my guess would be 1-3 grand, thats is if you have good insurance!

my pregnancy and birth cost 65,000 dollars but i had a c-sec and an induction so thats the most it will cost for a normal baby, and i use normal loosly. If you baby has any medical problems it costs a lot more. my friends birth alone cost 134,000 dollars for preemie. it also depends on you doctor and their charges. It's not cheap but luckily you have insurance so that helps

We have 80/20 ins also. We ended up paying over $6,000.00 to the hospital & $800.00 to the Ob-GYN. It all depends upon what happens. I almost died during an emergency c-section & so did my daughter. Were both fine now. I believe my friend who had her baby later with no c-section had $1600.00 to the hospital & $800.00 to the Ob-GYN.

Our insurance covers maternity 100%, so it was free (except the co-pay on the prenatal vitamins).
