At a smackdown ppv a few months back Johnny nitro and joey mercuy were in a match for the tag titles and they lost. After the match teddy long said he didnt like johnny nitro and his actions so he released him and melina. Then the went to raw. He didnt really release them it was just part of the story line. they really have been a good item on raw lately

Because Smackdown general manager fired them AKA really they did not resign thier contact's.
