Pregnant women are not supposed to use anything with salicylic acid in it, which most acne face washes do have, so beware.

So many of the clear skin or acne face washes have salicylic acid in them. Salicylic acid is a salicylate along with aspirin and pepto bismol. All 3 medicines are dangerous for the baby. Benzoyl Peroxide is another acne mecicine that you should not use. Check the ingredient list of your face wash to see if these ingredients are in them.

Anything containing retinol or retin-A is known to cause fetal problems. Few OTC products contain it, but some do. Just to be safe, try a natural product line like Kiss My Face or Burts Bees--reasonably priced, effective and safe for sure.

OTC products are okay. It's when they are prescription strength that you should be cautious. Most products that aren't safe come with a warning. Stay away from herbal remedies. Some herbs are not safe during pregnancy.

Read the ingredients first, but I don't see why you shouldn't be able to use the face wash. It's generally recommended that you don't use hair color that has ammonia in it in the 1st trimester.
There's probably not ammonia or any other ingredients like it that will hurt you or your baby in the face wash.

My doctor told me that I can use any face/acne products I want as long as they don't contain salicylic acid.

If your face wash is over the counter- there is no risk. If there was all us poor moms that got 2nd trimester acne would have been pretty miserable!
