Was Syd Barrett a victim if his times? A genuise who peaked to early then poisioned his mind? Or was he a usless musician with no talent and nothing to say? Let me know your thoughts on the late signers legacy...

I'm going to go with the combo answer here. I think that the sadness of his years that left him a victim of his times is the result of the acid soaked 60's. I think that he began as a talented musician that liked drugs entirely too much and left him a talentless hack with nothing to say...but that is just what i think!

He was definitely a quintissential rock artist. He was a true genius, he was just very ill. I don't think he was able to deal with the success he achieved. He always will be remembered as a true genius and music legend!

brilliant but crazy. and yeah, acid probably had something to do with it.
