It is highly unlikely that A-Rod will be traded. The Yankees will not give this player away and no team has the capability of putting up the kind of cash that would entice the Yankees organization to do so. Only scenario that would work is if A-Rod demanded a trade and due to his recent comments, he's seemingly happy in NY.

Who would they get for him anyway?

A-Rod should definitely get traded form the Yankees. It is in the best interest of a-rod and the yankees to just let him go. A-rod has the talent, and im sure the yankees would want to keep one of the best players in the game, but its all the distractions off the field and in the clubhouse where a-rod ruins the team. arod does nothing more than divide the team, and will always play in the shadow of derek jeter if he stays in NY. arod is full of crap and the yankees need to trade him for pitching and another third baseman.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like he will be. A-Rod says he loves it in NY...which is a bit strange when he gets booed at Yankee Stadium.

As a New Yorker, I would be thrilled to see him leave. He is a distraction to the team and can't get it done in October. He still is a top-10 player in the league, but he doesn't deserve that monster contract...nobody does.

At least the Yanks got rid of Sheffield. He is on the decline and was injured all last season. The Yanks really need to start getting some young players.

NO.You know all of the Yankee fans are saying get him out of there, the big apple isn't for him, which is true, but who will want to take on that type of salary. THE MAN IS GETTING PAID MORE THAN THE ENTIRE FLORIDA MARLINS TEAM! the Yankee organization says they will not trade him, but you know they are going to see what they could get for A-rod. They will probably get some good offers too. but that contract is just way too much money, and nobody wants that. so he will not get traded, because of that contract.

If the California Angels present a good offer with Ervin Santana, Chone Figgins and probably a first-rate prospect I could Alex Rodriguez heading to Anaheim. Though before anything, doesn't A-Rod have to consent since he has a no-trade clause in his contract?

I seriously hope he's traded but Brian Cashman has insisted that A-Rod is going nowhere.

There is no logiacal resaon for the yankees to trade him. They only would trade himfor a superstar in return. They would rather keep his contract instead of eating it and taking on another contract. Plus what team would give that much up for him. the Cubs can't afford him he has no place to play there, he's not going to the AL, and steinbrenner would not trade him to LA based on their competeion for revenue.

If he will be traded, it won't be anytime soon. Look for the BoSox to finally deal out Manny now though. The pricing is right, and it looks like Texas is interested.

I dont see it happening. He should be dealt, but Cashman and George just wont do it, they will want way too much for him, and they will have to eat most of his remaining salary as well.
