It's hard to say because everyone likes different features. But I'll give you a link where you can go and get reviews on just about every single paintball product out there.

I just picked up an Odyssey RPM on ebay for $100 and that was a great deal. Guns with the kind of features this gun has go for $250, easy. But do some research and see what you might think will fit you best.

It really depends on whether you want to play speedball(kind of like hide and go seek with a gun) like on television on espn or woodsball which it more like milslim(military simulation). If you want to play woodsball you can get a nice tippmann 98 custom for under $220 with anti chop control or a used modle 98 for under $100. If you want a good speedball gun that won't get out gunned, get a smartparts ion with eyes for around $250. Tippmann 98's are invinsible guns that you can run a car over and they still work fine but it only shoots around 8 BPS(balls per second) but you can run CO2 through them with hardly any problems besides a busted O-ring every now and then. A Smartparts ion with eyes will hardly ever(almost never) chop a ball. An ion is electronic so it can fire very fast (around 20 bps) with little trigger pull and comes with a double trigger so you can walk it, but it is also pretty fragile.

Over all a tippmann gun can be upgaded alot and so can the ion.
If your looking for a gun that will fire trough any thing with few problems get a tippy, If you want a nice fast gun with tremendous upgrades but a little pricy get an ion.

Tippmann = woodsball
Everything else = speedball

Hope this was helpfull,
Jesus

oh and dont get a longer barrel 8-12 inch is good size. Aim has little to do with length, it accually slows the ball down, Get a good beginner bareel like a smartparts progressive or a lapco snapshot.

A Tippmann 98 or A-5 are great beginner Markers they are very durable .. and if you going for speedball The Shocker is the best for speed and durablility BUT it does cost but is worth it....

go for longer barrels - better aim for beginners... and also you can say ' hey baby, you know what they say about guys with big guns...'
