Unless you are a one paycheck family, I see no reason you shouldn't handle your own money. If she works, each of you should have your own accounts, with a third account set up for household expenses, which you both contribute to, on a sliding scale, according to how much each of you make.
If you are a one paycheck family, unless there is some reason you don't trust her to handle the money, I see nothing wrong with giving her your check.
If you are two check family, why would you give her your check? Are there mitigating circumstances such as you just can't find the time to get to the bank?
So, I guess it depends on your circumstances. I would only have an objection to handing over my check if I was nagged into it and/or didn't trust her to do what is right with it.
Good luck

I am not able to answer this with out pointing out that if you guys have bill and she takes care of paying them maybe you should
but always ask that you have part of the check
I truly believe that each party should have a private account
for me I don't work because my doc asked that I stay in bed
for my pregnancy
my husband put $2300 from his paycheck to my bank account for me each month (in his case he can afford it) but not everyone can
even if it 50 dollars per week someone should try to put away
Talk to your Wife
remember every situation is different (depend if you can trust her )

My husband gives me his paycheck...and I dont work either. If you have a relationship with you partner in which you trust her to use the money wisely then there is no problem. My husband and I just started communicating and everything works great now, but before I was really careless with the money and it put a real strain on our relationship.

Buddy if your married... (and especially if you have kids) shes already got your paychecks no matter what you do so just hand it over as long as shes responsible with the bills... now if she blows it all.. you should have figured that out before you married her...

As for me and my wife we each have an account with both our names on each and when bills come time.. we just pick which ones we each pay and write a check out.. as long as they all get paid doesnt matter which account... this way we can manage our own ledger

WE both have direct deposit & the money goes into one account. She writes the checks( you can not read my writeing) & I get a allowance each week. I have to live on that money because if I over spend one week thats just to bad for me. She will not give me more money She puts in about $ 460 aweek & I put in $940. I get a allowance of $100 a week. I have learned how to live on that. She spends very little on her self. This is how we have stayed married for 42 years.

Only if she can budget the money, pay all the bills in a timely manner and can account for every penny.
