Hey everyone.... I have had two girls 4 and 5 years ago, and am now pregnant with a boy. I am carrying very low compaired to my girls, But my main consern is,,,, when I was pregnant with my girls at this stage, they would kick me in the ribs. This baby is kicking in the pelvic area. Is it just because he is low? If I lay sideways he streaches out and pushes very hard on both of my sides, but when sitting up, i only feel him in my pelvic area. Where did/do you feel the kicking, and how far along are you?

I'm at 24 weeks and I only feel the kicks in my pelvic area even though the docs tell me that the top of the uterus is now well above my belly-button. You could just be carrying low (I think I am) or maybe your muscles are more sensitive in the lower area of your body. Not every baby makes it clear into your rib cage (or so I've heard). Just be glad you can feel the baby move. At least you know he's okay.

I am 24 weeks with my daughter ( this is my first baby ) and I am carrying her very low. 95% of the time I feel her kicking in my pelvic area. She does sometimes move slightly up into my ribs, but not very often. My baby girl also will stretch out her body when I am lye down and kick my sides! You sound totally normal to me! Good luck!

Dont worry im going through the same thing. Im pregnant at 34wks with my first child and i already know its a boy. Im the same, my tummy is riding low and he kicks me usually in the side and the upper tummy (he is heads down).
My mother and a friend used to joke with me about being kicked in the ribs....but ive never felt any kicks in that area. He usually pokes his legs in my right side or pushes his feet along my upper stomach (above the belly button). I also feel him moving his arms and head around my cervix. Dont worry its all normal...all babies have their different movements and favourite positions. I think thats why in this case i havent copped any kicks in the ribcage. He seems to lay in my tummy like a little banana with one leg out to the side.
Good Luck and Congratulations!

Although we picture babies as tossing and turning like gymnasts, they actually have a preference for one or two positions. Many babies begin life head down and favoring one side or the other and maintain this for the duration of the gestation.
At 28 to 30 weeks, we see babies settling onto their favorite position probably due to the increasing restriction of the uterus. They certainly may still turn somersaults but this is not as common as it is earlier in gestation.
Has your doctor checked to see what position the baby is in during your prenatal appointments (i.e., head down, etc). If not, ask at your next appointment. Also, are you sure it is kicking and not little hands probing?

because of the fact you're at 30 weeks, the newborn is getting huge and filling in the little sac plenty greater. The kicks and strikes often get slightly weaker because of the fact there's no longer a rather good variety of room to roll around anymore. It sounds like your infant is doing only high quality! do no longer subject your self too plenty! Congrats.

had the same problem when i was pregnant its actually not the baby kicking. Your baby is butting you in the pelvis with its head. I asked my doctor cause i was afraid my baby was breach. Se wasnt it was her head. And it hurts and it feels like little kicks. But its not. Just had my baby two months ago
