i just watched the comp. DVD that Nintendo is giving out, and i think it will be a huge success and i will tell you why. first, any one can sit a regular system....key word...sit. with the wii, you actually get involved, and move around. second, it plays all game cube games, so it is universal. i think all ages will love it, especially parents because the kids can get some exercise while getting in their game time.i think it will be fun... i cant wait to get one.

Screw history. Nintendo COULD be onto something here, or they could just as easily be turning into a fad. If the Wii can be a console that people view as their main system, then it can succeed. If 360 or PS3 owners use it as a backup, then it could be successful as well, just dont expect Nintendo to take anymore gambles. I was going to be baggin' me a Wii on launch day, but then I wised up and figured that if the thing still has people interested in 6 months and is still as talked about as it is now, then I might be in the market. I still think its going to be a fad or something that you bust out every once in a while to have some fun or to show to your buddies. The question is, will it convince 360 and PS3 owners to make room and spend more money when stuff like Halo 3, Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, GTA 4, Final Fantasy 13, Fable 2, and Metal Gear Solid 4, (not to mention Gears of War will be keeping people occupied for a good 5-6 more months) will be coming in 2007? Can gamers make the shift this early in the Wii's life and spend money on interactive games and new concepts, when a whole lot of huge games will be coming to their systems? If you ask me, Nintendo needs to sell big its first year and it doesnt look like it will be doing to hot with Sony and Microsoft snagging all the big titles and blockbusters in 07. Nintendo needs to get a foothold in the market in 07 and they are going to fight an uphill battle the whole year with no real big titles except Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. I think Nintendo will have bad timing as well as bad future planning. I hope I'm wrong, because the Wii can be the next great thing, but from a market analysts view, the future looks to be a bit of good and more bad than good.

It's going to be a hit, it dosen't really matter that there is no dvd combatibility on it , you could easily buy a dvd player for $15 or $20 now, or just use your ps2, plus noone, except sony is a little, is trying to do what they are with the way people play games, because after a half hour or so, is anyone really going to care about the graphic, because everyone got over 3-D graphics really fast after games got into it.

it'll be a hit. ps3 and xbox360 only for gamefans, but girls and parents usualy don't play it. while wii will attract more people from kids to adults and any gender to get their hands on game console. i won't be surprise if the next gen sony and ms console will try to copycat wii controller.

it will be shortlived... i think we should consider that most gamers are young adults... not kids and female gamers...xbox and ps are for the not so young.
