I know a lot of people who are very poor, but smart as hell. Book wise I mean, they just don't have money to go to universities and college. What can be done about this?

Hard work. Alot of it. It's not glamorous, but I worked through my first year of college flipping burgers. I got good grades. I couldn't take as many classes, because I couldn't afford them- heck, I'm STILL going at 23. Poor income people qualify for grants through the federal government, as long as they are "poor enough." Loans can be taken out. Check everywhere for scholarships, there are tons available and many go unclaimed because people are too lazy to write an essay. Volunteer work helps ALOT. So does having clear, defined career goals. It's not easy, and it's not the "ideal college experience" but it's possible if you are committed to success.

They can apply for grants as that is money that doesn't have to be paid back. It takes a lot of dedication, hard work & lots of prayer.
