I have not experienced what you are asking although I have witnessed an elderly man (looked like he was well off) loose over $200.000 at the Bellagio, he ended up out side by the lake holding and shaking his head. I assume he had a loser's headache. Or maybe just did not know how to tell his wife.
As for me I set a budget when its gone its gone. A few times I even came home with a few hundred more than I started with. So far it works for me.
Although I also budget heavily for shows, spa for two, fine dinning and any other non gambling activities.
My idea is to have fun during my stay.
Good luck and have fun

I lived in Vegas for many yrs. some people lose all their cash then go sell everthing they have in their car. Clothes, t.v.s, household goods & all for whatever they can talk someone into paying for it, then instead of using the money to go on to wherever they were heading to start with, they go right back into the casinos thinking for sure their luck will turn & they'll win it all back. They wind up either on the street or asking traveler's aid for help. It is really sad. I'm not saying that everyone does that, most have & use good sense but I have seen enough to know that there are some real nutty people out there who are gambler-holics. I feel bad for them but the only way to get them to stop is for them to hit rock-bottom. Then sometimes they go for help.
