My sister is 20 years old and we I am 23 we look alike very much. She wants to go to the casino and party with my I.D I told her I would not let her borrow my I.D because she can get me in some trouble if she acts up. She went all psycho yelling that I was so unfair.

Am I wrong for not letting her borrow my drivers license / state ID

Let her use it, if she gets in trouble, say she stole it. If shes already in that much trouble, she deserves it right?

8 out of 10 cases of identity thief is by family or friends.

If your sister commits a crime using your id (it is probably a crime for an underaged person to gamble) you could be charged as a co-conspirator. For example, she signs a casino check for cash to gamble (happens all the time) and loses, you would be responsible for her debts since you conspired with her to defraud the casino by giving her a fake id.

Maybe she will visit you in jail.

You are not wrong. In fact, you are making a wise and mature decision. Many things could occur that might put you in hot water if you allow anyone to use your I.D.

Nope, you did the right thing. Unfortunately, she is probably going to find another way but we all make our own decisions and have to live with the consequences.
