If you think about the difference in position on the globe... but the closeness in everything else... what are the cultural differences? if any?

Uk....we think before we act
USA....knee jerk reaction

USA...somewhere below the waist

In the beginning of the UK (as one answerer put), there were not just "UK people". In early times, Rome had control of the UK. The Romans left in the early 400s. In the Anglo-Saxon Period (449-1066), the country was invaded by Germanic tribes. In 1066, they were invaded by the Normans (French). So, the UK is also a big, mixed up place.

Well maybe to start with the USA is a melting pot from a lot of European countries ( UK, Spain, French... ) / African ( who came because of slavery ) / Indians, the UK was at the beginning only UK people.
After the UK and the USA have their own way of writing words : color / colour, sidewalk / pavement, lift / elevator.
In many countries we say that UK is the little dog of the USA as they always follow them where ever they go (Irak, Afghanistan).
For me both of them have horrible food ( sorry but it's true )

The U.K spells thing correctly like aluminium, and colour etc. Well at least some of us do.
