Absolutely, sadly when people shop, they do not think or want to know of the torture the poor animal went through before it was put in the supermarket.
Animal cruelty laws must be made to include all animals and harsher penalties for such must be introduced.

It is worse than wrong, it is........ uncomprehendable. Animals do not have a voice, and it is up to us (people) to help protect them. I do not have time for people who abuse animals or children. I think they deserve the most severest punishment. To mistreat an animal is not on, and they deserve everything they get.

In Australia, depending on the crime, they can only get a fine. If it is a severe case of maltreatment, they can actually go to prison and banned from owning an animal. (also depends on which state you live in.)

It is the most despicable thing a human can do. Animals are part of God's creation, and, in the Bible, man was told that he was to have responsibility (mistranslated as dominion) over the animals.

In addition to my own brood, I foster for a local shelter. You have no idea the poor half-dead things that have come to my house in need of medical care, food, and just plain tenderness. It makes my heart sick.

I know God will have a special place in hell for people who abuse animals. At least children have a voice to speak and ask for help.

Yes I do. Animals are distinct living entitities. They are entitled to basic rights and a life without suffering. Just because you pay $50 for a cat at a pet store doesn't give you the right to kick it down the stairs.

Do I consider mistreating an animal criminal? Absolutely.

Harming any innocent creature is wrong, whether human or not.

And that many who willfully mistreat animals are more than capable of doing it to people as well, I take it as a warning sign.

Absolutely. To put it bluntly animals do not have a voice when it comes to speaking up about being hurt or under-nourished. We humans have a courtroom to sort out all forms of abuse. We should all learn to respect all living things. Wouldn't you agree?
