If you have an HD tv I would go with Xbox 360 because from some forums the PS3's arent able to get 1080i. Not to mention the PS3 is extremely new and there are going to be bugs in it (much like the Xbox 360 was). One of the bugs was with the extreme lack of compatability with older PS2 games. I would definately consider the Xbox 360.

Ps3 or Xbox 360. Either would be great. You'll be extremely lucky if you find a PS3 for retail price. They are sold-out and won't receive more shipments until the end of the year. You can buy one from ebay if you're willing to shell out 2000 dollars or more. The xbox 360 is more readily available since its been out for a year.
