OK, here's an old pro tip for ya . At the top end of you stick place a hockey lace and then wrap the hockey lace around the stick to desired Length. Once you have done that get some hockey tape and then wrap the tape over the lace. Squeeze the tape tight over the lace. You can also have the sticky part on the outside as well. The lace will protrude through the tape and give you a nice grip. Ive been doing it for years. Once it wears you can do it again. However barring that you don't break your stick with your blistering slap shot you just continue to wrap tape as needed.
It will work beautifully ,trust me. Impossible for someone to knock your stick loose.
Good luck.

i personally dont like grip on my stick b/c i cant move my hand around because if u wanna stickhandle then shoot, moving ur hand up and down the shaft isnt too easy. Also u dont really need grip... the main way that a stick would get knocked out of ur hand is not through slipping out, but by someone slashing it out of ur hands.

I play in the SCAAHL (So Cal Amateur Athletic Hockey League) and trust me, get used to the sticks without grips, its better for your game.
