I believe that it had to be for real or at the very least a strong attraction/connection beause they were willing to die for each other.

I don't think there were two people named Romeo and Juliet who really lived and were in love, but I think that they are symbolism of what first love feels like for many. It symbolizes the fact that first loves don't usually last forever due to conflicts that arise in life. But the two people fall head over heals so fast and they want that feeling to last forever. Most people can relate to Romeo and Juliet, minus the whole suicide thing, and that is why the story lives on.

Yes. Becoming suicidal because you lost a true love is real enough. You hear it on the news all the time. Men and women who kill each other, then commit suicide. But, Romeo and Juliet was an exceptional story, a fictional story.

it is a magnificant play that was made by the intelligent Shakespere. it was not a true story of course for some it may happen to them but in a different way, well anyway sto answer the question yes the love was for real. no one would kill themselves for just anybody. "Two star-crossed lovers" meaning even though that they were no allowed to meet, see, or talk to each other they still took the risk and killed themselves because of a small confusion and and mistake that the messenger was too late to give the message to Romeo that she is really in a deep sleep. well their love was real because they died for eachother for he love they had for eachother. but remember this was not a true story. just a poem that Shakespere had the time to write.

No I don't. It was a teen romance that because of circumstance got out of hand. Had their families left them alone to get to know each other, the attraction may have grown to love, but more likely it would have died a quick natural death. As we grow we find out the things we really like in the opposite sex and the things we can't stand. That is why we have dating. We go out with someone, and then break up and date someone else. This is how we learn about each other and ourselves, whether we are 18 or 48.

Love in Romeo & Juliet is more than love of two people. It is Love as a force of nature...at first unlooked for...then in fantasy only...
then almost but impossible...their love is a parable of desire and hence a tragity.
It is the reality of love to be lost and for humans to follow.

yes, its the kind of love everyone wants to be in.
yes, it was very very think and emotional. it was a very intense play, i'd say the most intense part of it is the scene where romeo commits suiscide.
But, it was a tragic romance.
I'd say that no matter how much you love someone, if you truely and deeply believe that you do, then it is ture love. a

With the kiss, he feels that all he was there for had been accomplished. and finished with her death and now his. it was extream but it IS Shakespeare,. <3

they didn't really love each other. they only knew each other for like 2 days. i guess juliet thought romeo would be a better husband than paris because she didn't really like paris. also considering that both of them were teenagers, they didn't know the first thing about love.

No i don't. Don't get me wrong it is a great book. Shakespeare is brilliant, but if you want to talk about reality it's stupid. First of all they met based on mutual attraction. Wow what girl is not attracted to Leonardo Dicapprio. Second they knew each other for a couple weeks, Big deal. I have thought girls were great for a couple weeks and then learned they were complete nut jobs.

What do you mean real? It was from a work of fiction!

Suicidal love was a sensation back then but now it's just psychotic. That is NOT real love. That is possessiveness, immaturity, among other things.
