Some of the effective home remedies for the treatment of ring worms are:
* Take a raw fresh papaya and cut out slices. Rub the slice on the ringworm patch.
* Apply the juice extracted from the Holy basil leaves on the patch twice or thrice a day.
* Raw vegetable juices, especially carrot juice in addition with spinach juice, have proved very effective in the treatment of ringworm.

Lotrimin is good. But remember ringworm bacteria continue to be in the cloth or item that was in contact of the place that got the ringworm.
If the ringworm is on the foot the shoe willy carry it. If the ringworm is on the leg the pants will carry it. If you do not wash that item with hot water and dry it well you will get back the ringworm from that clothing or shoe.

Garlic is the best, most effective broad-spectrum antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal herb known. Echinacea and Garlic are the Herbal Dynamic Duo. You can mash it up and apply it externally, wrapping the area in saran wrap overnight and/or take it internally. Don't forget to change your sheets often.

Lotrimin...I think you can get it at a CVS type store or something like that...anyway, it works good so I've seen. It's a little tube and I think the colors on it are black and yellow.
