I received it twice and thought it was the greatest thing on earth ill the 3rd time. I had and still have no sex drive I havent had my period in about 6 months. But have had a lovely brown discharge (sucks) I've read other nightmare experiences associated with it. Anyone else have a bad one?

I had a horrible experience with depo. My period would not come for 3 months then come for an entire month. I gained about 20 pounds. I stopped taking the shot after about a year. Now my cycle is more regular and I've lost the weight. I hate it and will never take it again.

I had a horrible experience. I gained 25 pounds my first month on it, and 10 more over the next near, even though I was exercising regularly and watching what I ate. I had hot flashes in the middle of the night and then finally had to stop because I began bleeding heavily. It was so heavy, I could not leave the house for more than one hour, because the super sized pads were completely full. I almost went to the ER thinking I was hemorrhaging.

I had a friend who was on it for 8 years. Of course you don't have periods on it, which she loved, but when she decided to stop so she and her husband could conceive she had a period that lasted more than a couple of months straight. It also took more than a year after stopping the shot for her to get pregnant. She's on the pill now (after 2 kids) and says she'll never do it again.

I heard it makes some people periods come on and stay on for a while and also it does mess with your hormones i hate it is doing this too you because you are trying to take the easy way out of preventing pregnancy instead of taking the pill

Depo sucks.

Weight gain, zero sex drive, spotting ALL the time... I hated it and most people I know that were on it didn't like it either.

Now it's being linked to brittle bones/osteoporosis, lots of docs won't give it anymore.

I had the shot and it was horrible! I had my period for a month straight, I gained 15 lbs, and it gave me terrible migraines. I will never do that again.
