I decided that I would play DE next year on Varsity, right now I am conditioning for the spot. My numbers aren't good, but what is the ideal bench, squat, 40 time, weight, height for a defensive end (in high school)

An "ideal" DE is someone who plays like the legendary LT. For someone moving from JV to Varsity, aim for modest, achievable goals such as bench over 200, squat 250, 40 time at 4.8 or better, weight over 160 and height better than 5'8"

i dont know if you are tall enough, maybe a safty, to play high school DE i would say a good size is 6'1 220. i dont know if you can apply the pressure against bigger linemen even in highschool, but if you can grow a bit, gain some weight and improve you r 40 a lot, you have a chance. usually in highschool, your 40 should be alot better than that. but dont give up, your coach would have to make that decision at what position you would have to play anyway
