I use a good thick clear top coat but yet it still chips off after only a few days.

Try polishing the underside of your fingernail as well as painting the top. This will reinenforce your top polish & reduce the chipping. You can also do a single coat touch up every other day or so & that should keep your manicure looking pretty the whole week. I usually polish my nails every week & I just dab a touch of the colored polish under the nail. Another good idea is to wear latax gloves when you're washing dishes & mopping, etc. not only does it keep polish from chipping so much it keeps the harsh chemicals from damaging your hands. Always use lotion & SUNSCREEN & NEVER TAN. Tanning will cause your hand (which are the most exposed to the sun's rays) from getting age spots & getting leathery. One more tip, is always act as though your nail polish is wet & that will in itself protect your nails. These are tips that I've gotten from my grandmother (who had the most beautiful hands & manicure) & every since I was a young lass, I was always told I should be a hand model because I must honestly say I have very beautiful hands. I most gracious that gift was passed on to me from my beloved Cajun grandmother Jeanne Cormier Blanchard.

Use a base coat. Then after the second coat, put some clear nail polish on it. It should help stop the chipping. (:

I like doing a coat of clear nailpolish over the regular color to keep it from chipping.

thuroughly wash and dry your nails before you do them
Wipe with Isopropyl Alcohol
use a good base coat like Orly "Bonder" base coat
two coats of color
use a good top coat like Seche Vite or Poshe
add a clear top coat every 2 or 3 days

that's it

make sure that all of the nail polish is cleared away from you nail before putting on a new coat..after that paint on a clear coat, then the actual color, and then a final top sealer clear coat... hope this helps!

Try just wearing clear...it does not look as tacky when it chips.
