I use Orange-glo and a dust mop, Murphy's is to harsh as our most products. But the nice thing about Orange-Glo is that it comes in a spray bottle so u just spray it and sipe with the dust mop. Your floor will shine!
Best of Luck

I use murphy's flax soap all the time, I never get a dull film.
Hmmm..."new oak floors"? I'm assuming that they are real wood and not pergo...even still, unless the dull film is residue from installation, Flax Soap should be good for everything.
You don't need a lot of the soap in the warm water, just a dab will do.

I believe you're supposed to dilute Murphy's Oil Soap with water. Did you follow the directions? Try Mr Clean or Pine Sol if Murphy's still doesn't do the trick, and put down a good layer of carnuba wax on that oak.

I used a product from Wal-Mart Called "Orange Clean" in a green bottle. After the floor is cleaned you clean it again with this product. It looks good, puts a deep polish on the floor. It says it's made for wood floors.
