Columbus transported people here to eat turkey on Thanksgiving. Before the white people came to this land, Indians were eating turkey already and eventually got sick and tired of it. It was Columbus who introduced it again to the newcomers and that's how the trend of eating turkey was revived.

well he discovered america, he drove out the indians from their land, so he could settle it. There was fighting betwen the settlers and indians. Thanksgiving is the day when they came together to help eachother out. and share food.
