listen here, if you had parents that care, good for you. My mother has her rights over me, but she don't want me to be around her, she's always sending me to my aunts or my grandmother's anywhere that's not close to her. She thinks that they are all better for me, but none of them are my parents and none of them treat me like a 16 year old, they all act like I'm five years old again. I just want to live somewhere that I'm going to get a little trust and a little respect & ALOT of support. So now is there any way that I can get around not becoming emancipated?

It depends on the state you live in and whether or not your legal guardian(s) approve of the plan.

Hi I know exactly how you feel. I am just turning 16 in a couple months and my boyfriend is 20 years old. We have been together for 3 years and now all of a sudden my mom is trying to say that I cant see him anymore and she is going to call the cops on him. I want to move out more than anything because I cannot stand living here anymore. I want to go and live with my boyfriend but I cant because then my mom will try and call the cops or something. But when you are 16 you can legally run away and the cops cant do anything except for bring you back home

Once you turn 18 your parents may want to still control your life but you are then an adult and can make your own choices. If you go against your parents wishes they probably won't pay for your college so you might want to consider that before you make your choices. I'd talk to a social worker about your parents taking the door off your room. You deserve some privacy. A social worker could also tell you how to become emancipated but you may not want to go that way if another resolution is possible. You should be able to get a copy of your birth certificate and your SS card if you know where you were born. Talking to a social worker about this may get your parents to give you the information as well.

Emancipation. Either you do it or you don't. It's like being married, but you want to move out and live a boyfriend for a while to "find yourself". Moving out of your parents house burns that bridge back, anyway. You want to be treated as an adult, but still hang on to your childhood status.

Look girl, If you move out as a 16 year old, your gonna get f'd up. Even if his parents take you in, your gonna end up realizing that that you should not of moved out. You are only 16, and there is a reason that you are not allowed to move out till you are 18. You arent old enough. You dont understand your feelings, and you dont know what to do with them. Take it from someone who has tried (recently) and realized that they had no idea what they were thinking. You could end up ruining your life. You worded your question oddly, but i think i figured out what you mean. You will not be freed from your parents if you move out, because you are still a minor. Only if your parents give away their rights to your boyfriends parents will they no longer own you.

Not if your parents don't agree to it. They are legally responsible for you until you are 18.If you want to be on your own, depending on which state you live in, the emancipation law criteria can be different. For example in WA state, you must be at least 16, have a job and be able to show you can support yourself on your own.If you don't want to be emancipated then it's up to your parents if they'll agree to let you live elsewhere and still want to be legally responsible for any of your actions.

No... by default you should not do this is not a good-life experience and you're not ready for this, trust me. And is not legal... U can't move out without getting emancipated, cause is called running away from home...

I don't think it is. Its definantley not a good idea though even if your parents agree to it. If your boyfriend is over 18, they might try to file something against him. Getting it legally done would be the best way to go. But its hard, and stressful and you have to have a job and a good reason to leave.

Unless you can show a good reason, you cannot become emancipated. No judge will emancipate someone so they can go live with their boyfriend.

You could live with your boyfriend if your parents and his parents consent to it. You dont have to get emancipated to do that.
