Mutually exclusive means two things CAN'T happen at the same time. It's very possible to wear both a coat and a sweater at the same time, so these are NOT mutually exclusive.

It depends on many factors; If you are sales personnel marketing a product to a high class person they are, Yet if you are a student freezing in winter, they aren't. If you live in the sub sahara or the tropical they are, if you live in the north hemisphere they are not. Sounds like circles but truth is they depend on other factors.
