i had my son in 2003. about a week after I got the birth control shot. (she didnt give it to me when I was on my period, like she was supposed to) about 6 months later I got off of it. It was a good 2 years before I got my first period. only because of birth control pills. like 8 months ago. now I went to another doctor and she put me on some hormone pills and about 15 days later I got my period and that was last month. now I havent had it again. I am trying to get pregnant and its been kinda hard since my overies are not working right. any info. on why i cant get it would be appreciated. thanks

i would suggest talking to your doctor and see what they can put you on that will force your body to ovulate more often. This will help you get regular and get pregnant. good luck

The shot can have lasting effects. Some women it takes several years for it to clear out of the system. Have you been tested for PCOS? There are other possible explanations, too, and your OB/gyn should be running tests to find out what's up, or at the very least, refer your to a Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE) to find out. I had no problems ovulating, but we were unsuccessful month after month. Finally saw an RE and found that both of my tubes were blocked. I had surgery to reopen one of them, and now I'm 37 weeks pregnant. Don't give up! MAKE your Dr figure it out! They can test your FSH levels to make sure you still have viable eggs.

You can e-mail me through my profile if you want to talk about it.

Have your doctor test to see if you are going through menopause. You may think I am crazy, but my sister went through the same thing, and found out at age 29 that see had already gone through menopause. Have them test just to see if your ovaries are normal and that there isn't something else going on. Good Luck
