When flying over the U.S. I notice that the East Coast is thick with clouds from Ohio to far east coast. On the West Coast near the coast there are no clouds at all. Why would the Atlantic Ocean coastal states be so cloudy and the Pacific coast not?

Its due to air pollution, Ohio is laden with power plants that spew filth into the sky. In fact, the east coast has one of the highest concentrations of acid rain in the US. In a dozen or so years expect all the maple trees of NY and Vermont to be dead due to this high concentration.

because its the east coast receiving all the humidity from Africa, and the heat from there drifting to form cyclones on americas east coast.
