first more heat allows it to process faster, but eventually it will begin to get too hot and scorch the plant

the rate does this because the leaves can not stay under a lot of heat from the sun. Therefore when it gets hot it starts to slow down. Also another reason is because in photosynthesis, enzymes are used and if they get to hot, they become denatured and will slow the rate down.
