We live here in Vegas, I have seen a couple of shows that I would definately take a teenager to. Blue Man Group at the Venetian and KA at the MGM Grand.
Blue Man only has 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm performances. KA has performance at 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Sorry, these aren't afternoon times.....but they are terrific shows!!!
Believe me, there is plenty of things to do and to keep families busy and happy here in Vegas. I hope you have a great time while you are here!!

Use the link below to read full reviews of current shows, with prices and lots of other information. Afternoon shows' category is at the bottom of the page. I saw the Popovitch Pet Theater show last trip and it was charming. 'Sort of an old-school circus act with cats and dogs and skits. Your girls might prefer the Price is Right, where adults in the audience participate and there are lots of prizes given away. (Edit: I just read at another question that a couple of people thought the audience was too big for a decent chance to participate, and generally didn't think too much of it.)
A good tip is to get your tickets through the discounters. Tickets2Nite and Tix4Tonight have multiple locations. You can only get the tickets same day, first-come-first-served, but you get great deals. They open at 11 am or noon, and you check the scrolling electronic board for available shows and prices. See the links below for more info.

Lance Burton is best for magic. I would suggest getting a free guide book. There are a lot of afternoon shows that are free or really inexpensive. The Stratosphere puts on a good inexpensive show with impersonators. Can't remember the name. Bite, also at the Stratosphere is GREAT. Usually an evening run, with topless for the latest show. The music is really good.

The Blue Man Group is a great show.
Last year we went to the Star Trek Experience. I am not a big fan of Star Trek, but I really enjoyed it. It is not so much a show, hard to describe, but there are 2 rides that really ended up being pretty fun. My 15 & 12 year old niece and nephew also enjoyed it.
We also all loved the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay.

You can check out all the shows at this site
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com >reviews/ratings/prices/times under "VEGAS INFO" >shows/events< put in the dates you plan to visit...
The Rick Thomas show at Orleans is a good one and well worth the price...There are evening shows in LV that are appropriate for the younger audience. Such as Tournament of Kings at Excalibur and American Superstars at Stratosphere..
Whatever you do avoid "viva las vegas" it isn't worth seeing, even for free...
Later: Talked to some LV friends and they highly recommend these two afternoon shows both for their value and for kids...Ronn Lucas at the Aladdin and Dirk Arthur at Tropicana...
