Keep it and work on it when you can. You have a long time before you will be licensed to drive, and you can learn how to do the repairs. Exhaust work is mainly bolt on parts, so you can either buy the parts and install them yourself, or you can save some money and have an exhaust shop do the work when you are ready to put the truck on the road.

I do not know what is wrong with the suspension, but if all it needs is new shocks, that is an easy fix. Get someone who knows more about mechanics than you do to help you, or see if your school has an auto shop class you can take. You may even be able to work on your truck in school!!

Learning how to do vehicle repairs now will save you money for the rest of your life!

Good Luck!

maybe it's just me, but i would be inclined to keep the truck and then learn how to work on them. that is how i learned, on a
1976 chevy nova when i was your age. now i help build race cars.
you just have to go at it a little bit at a time and get you a couple of those auto repair books that they sell at auto parts stores.
what you have described what you see as a problem with the truck is not insurmountable, you can fix it in other words. it will just take a little time and patience. first order of business is to get you a good set of tools, the books, good jack stands and a pump jack (if anyone asks you what you want for x-mas, there's your answer). just don't let it take over your life, make sure that your grades at school don't go down or mom or dad may get rid of it for you:( .good luck and as always here to help.

id say keep it, it would be a good project for you to learn how to work on vehicles, i mean if you mess something up no big deal the truck is already in bad shape so.....

It depends if the exhaust and suspension cost more than the car you want.
